The Grass Doctor

James took over the green maintenance at "The Royal" Sandal Bowling Club in May 2014 and has proven to be a great acquisition! He is extremely knowledgeable about green maintenance and has tailored an appropriate work programme for our green. James has recently (in early Oct-14) completed the end of season work (scarifying, top dressing, seed and feed applications) and the green now has an excellent dense and dark green covering which bodes well for a high quality laying surface during the 2015 season. In summary, James is an affable person who provides the highest quality services at excellent value for money. I recommend him highly!

James, The top green at Castleford BC is now as good as it was in the 70's. Over the last 3 years I have followed your guidance and the results have been magnificent. My goal was to get this green back to where it was, one of the best greens in the area, and I am confident everyone that plays this green agrees. The pace on the green is unbelievable and there has not been one game this year that the visitors have not commented on that fact. This year Castleford BC is running an invitation 16 on the 10-th August and I am confident that I will get a positive response from all the players regarding the green. This green would not be in the condition it is in without your input and guidance and I owe you so much, once again many thanks.

James and Stuart have not yet played a game on the green as yet, but just the look says a lot - could not believe you took 12 black bags of grass off the green. Will add more to these comments when had the chance to have a game. Meanwhile, Many thanks!

Last Season our green was in a very poor condition and improved slightly as the season progressed. We were awarded the National County Parks final and were worried the green wouldn't be good enough. We called in James and Stuart and they did a marvellous job in making a remarkable difference to the green. They worked really hard and clearly knew what they were doing. They improved every aspect of the green in terms of condition, pace and look. The comments we received from Greater Manchester which were all complimentary about the standard of a Parks Green being so good is testimony to the work done by James & Stuart. I cant thank them enough and wouldn't hesitate to use their skills again.

James, I would just like to thank you for the work you have put into our green. From getting constant complaints from club members and visiting teams, we now only get complements. It is no longer a push but is now a true running green, the best it as been for a number of years.

James, just a line or 2 to say thanks for all the work you have done at Castleford Town Bowling Club. After years of neglect both our greens were unfit to bowl but now both greens are coming back to what they use to be like in the 1970's. Although the weather was against us this year with all the rain the top green was "flying" when we had dry periods. One bowler told me "I don’t care if I win or lose, it’s a pleasure to play on a green that is running" Everyone that has played on the green this year has commented on the improvement shown. I have followed your guidance throughout the bowling season and you have been spot on with the advice given, for someone as young as yourself you are extremely knowledgeable on bowling green maintenance. Best of luck for the future James and once again many thanks for all your work and advice.
